Castellania, Piedmont

Castellania is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region Piedmont, located about southeast of Turin and about southeast of Alessandria. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 99 and an area of .〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕
The municipality of Castellania contains the ''frazioni'' (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Mossabella and Sant'Alosio.
Castellania borders the following municipalities: Avolasca, Carezzano, Costa Vescovato, Garbagna, Sant'Agata Fossili, and Sardigliano.

Castellania is known as the birthplace of two famous racing cyclists: Angelo Fausto Coppi (1919–1960) and his brother Serse Coppi (1923–1951).
